Stopping navigation

961/962 Operations and Reference Manual, Rev. A
3. Press the YES, RESTART HERE key (or press the
CANCEL key to cancel).
The STEER screen appears, showing navigation to the
active waypoint. You're going directly from your present
position to this waypoint.
Stopping navigation means you can travel without onscreen
navigation messages appearing and without unwanted
waypoint sequencing. In addition, autopilot commands cease
when stopped. Why stop navigation? If you purposely want to
go off-course, for example, simply stop navigation. When
you're done, you can resume navigation right where you left
off.
To stop waypoint navigation calculations, at the TRIP screen
press the STOP NAV key (this key isn't displayed unless there's
an active waypoint). The message TRIP STOPPED is displayed
above the RESUME NAV key. To resume navigation
calculations at any time, at the TRIP screen press the RESUME
NAV key.
