Chapter 10 - Waypoint and Route Navigation
Page 10-4
The 3-D STEER screen provides a comprehensive picture of
your progress toward the active waypoint, if any.
The screen is a track-centered display showing in your general
area any waypoints (shown with blue flags) and avoidance
points (shown as red circles), and, for precision steering, your
position and COG relative to the desired track. The 3-D STEER
screen graphically displays nearby waypoints, including any
unnamed waypoints in the trip and in whatever route is
currently displayed on the CHART screen, as well as your
active waypoint (shown with a green flag, or red if an MOB
waypoint), if any.
Only waypoints within a certain number of miles are shown
on the 3-D STEER screen; if cross-track scale is set to 0.25 nm,
that's 1.5 nm.
If there isn't an active waypoint, the 3-D STEER screen is
COG-up, centered on your present position.
