CLUTCH/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE/STARTER CLUTCH
Remove the oil seal [1] from the right crankcase cover.
Check the needle bearings [2] for wear or damage,
replace them if necessary.
Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
• Apply grease to a new oil seal lips.
• Align the return spring hook with right crankcase
cover.

REMOVAL
Remove the right crankcase cover (page 11-4).
Remove the following:
– Thrust washer [1]
– Wave washer [2]
– Starter idle gear [3]
– Shaft [4]
Loosen the set plate bolts [1] in a crisscross pattern in
two or three steps, and remove the bolts, set plate [2],
and clutch springs [3].
