P0443 (EVAP PURGE CONTROL
SOLENOID VALVE)
• Before starting the inspection, check for loose or
poor contact on the EVAP purge control solenoid
valve 2P (Black) connector and ECM 33P (Black)
connector, then recheck the DTC.
1. EVAP Purge Control Solenoid Valve System
Inspection
Erase the DTCs (page 4-9).
Start the engine and check the EVAP purge control
solenoid valve with the MCS or GST.
Is the P0443 indicated?
YES
NO
2. EVAP Purge Control Solenoid Valve Input
Voltage Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the EVAP purge control solenoid valve
2P (Black) connector [1] (page 7-22).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop switch

Measure the voltage between the EVAP purge
control solenoid valve 2P (Black) connector of the
wire harness side and ground.
CONNECTION: Black/blue (+) – Ground (–)
Does the battery voltage exist?
YES
NO
3. EVAP Purge Control Solenoid Valve Resistance
Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Measure the resistance at the EVAP purge control
solenoid valve side of the EVAP purge control
solenoid valve 2P (Black) connector [1] terminals.
Is the resistance within 30 – 34 Ω (20°C/68°F)?
YES
NO
– GO TO STEP 2.
– Intermittent failure
– GO TO STEP 3.
– Open circuit in Black/blue wire
– GO TO STEP 4.
– Faulty EVAP purge control solenoid valve
