5. O Sensor Heater Line Short Circuit Inspection

Check the continuity between the wire harness side

ground.
CONNECTION: Black – ground
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
P0511 (IACV)
• Before starting the inspection, check for loose or
poor contact on the IACV 4P (Black) and ECM 33P
(Black) connectors, and recheck the DTC.
1. Recheck DTC
Erase the DTC (page 4-9).
Check the IACV with the MCS or GST.
Is the P0511 indicated?
YES
NO
2. IACV Resistance Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Lift the fuel tank and support it (page 3-4).
Disconnect the IACV 4P (Black) connector (page 7-
18).
Measure the resistance between the 4P connector
terminals of the IACV [1].
TOOL:
Test probe
CONNECTION: A – D
STANDARD: 99 – 121 Ω (25°C/77°F)
Is the resistance within standard value?
YES
NO
3. IACV Internal Short Circuit Inspection
Check for continuity between the 4P connector
terminals of the IACV [1].
TOOL:
Test probe
CONNECTION: A – B
Is there continuity?
YES
NO
sensor 4P (Black) connector [1] terminal and
– Short circuit in Black wire
– Replace the ECM with a known good one,
and recheck.
– GO TO STEP 2.
– Intermittent failure
