Three loran warning indicators obtained from any Northstar
800 series loran receiver are displayed to the right of each TD.
These indicators are available only from Northstar 800 series
lorans.

Indicator
Meaning
SNR
Signal-to-Noise Ratio is low—use caution
BLNK
Coast Guard is transmitting a blink signal, indicat-
ing a probable transmitter problem
CYC
The receiver has detected a possible cycle slip
LOCK
The receiver has locked onto the loran track point
(this isn't a warning indicator, but an indication of
normal performance)
The L/L indicator to the left of a TD designates it as one of the
two TDs that the loran receiver has chosen to use to calculate
latitude and longitude.
The F/L indicator to the left of a TD indicates that it has been
forced to be used to calculate latitude and longitude.
To check the quality of signals being received by your loran,
press the /25$1 ,1)2 menu key from the LORAN POSITION
screen. The SNR for each loran transmitting station is dis-
played graphically on the LORAN INFO screen. Press 5(7851
to return to the LORAN POSITION screen.
To display GPS coordinates and signal status, press the &+(&.
*36 menu key. The unit continues to navigate using loran,
and will display loran data the next time you return to the
LORAN POSITION screen.
To return to GPS signals for navigation, repeat the steps shown
for selecting loran in "Selecting loran" on page 67, except spec-
ify GPS instead of loran.
