3. Press the &85625 3$' once to change from AUTO to
MANUAL. A differential transmitter frequency appears to
the right of the word MANUAL.
4. Press &85625 3$' to highlight the digits you want to
change. Enter the appropriate frequency—to any value
between 283.5kHz and 325kHz—and press the (17(5
key when you're done.
You can also manually set the baud rate (the transmitter's data transmis-
sion speed) for the selected differential frequency; however, it is strongly
recommended that you leave the
AUTO
.
A non-Northstar external differential receiver can't be manually controlled
by the 951/952, unless it supports the MX50R control protocol. Refer to
the particular differential receiver manufacturer's instructions to determine
if this control protocol is supported.
You can enable or disable the use of differential information.
To set this option, at the RECEIVER OPTIONS screen, press the
(',7 menu key. Press the &85625 3$' to select enabled or
disabled. Press the (17(5 key to make the change, or &/($5
to leave the option unchanged.
The DGPS DATA TIMEOUT setting determines how long the
unit will continue to use old DGPS corrections if no new cor-
rections are being received (due to bad weather, extreme dis-
tance from beacon, and so on). If this time period elapses with
no new corrections received, the unit reverts to standard GPS
navigation, and displays OLD CORRECTIONS as the DGPS sta-
tus on the DGPS STATUS screen.
