Table 8: Datum list (continued)
The STEERING screen's cross-track display limits can be
adjusted to suit your needs, whether you're navigating in open
waters or attempting to maneuver through a tight channel.
(The cross-track full scale display formats apply only to the tra-
ditional STEERING screen, not the 3D STEER screen.)
You can set the display limits (shown at the bottom of the
screen) to monitor your progress in increments of feet or
meters, if you desire, as opposed to the normal settings of
tenths of miles, tenths of nautical miles, or kilometers.
The choices available to you depend on whether you've
selected statute miles, nautical miles, or kilometers for the DIS-
TANCE/SPEED UNITS on the DISPLAY OPTIONS screen. See
Table 9 below for the corresponding choices.

The options represent the entire distance limit on your screen,
from full left to full right. For example, a cross-track distance
setting of 1,000 feet displays 500 feet to either side of your
track line.
To change the setting, press the (',7 menu key and press the
&85625 3$' to view the available choices. Press the (17(5
key to make your selection, or &/($5 to leave the option
unchanged. If necessary, modify the DIST/SPEED UNITS set-
ELLIPS.
