Immobilizer System
Symptom Troubleshooting
1. Troubleshoot the immobilizer system by the order of the priority shown:

Symptom
Immobilizer indicator blinks after the
ignition switch is turned to LOCK (0).
Engine does not start with the
immobilizer key.
Immobilizer indicator does not come
on.
Immobilizer indicator does not go off.
Possible cause
Symptom troubleshooting (see page 22-403).

Check the MIL indication.
If the MIL comes on, go to the PGM-FI System MIL
circuit troubleshooting (see page 11-207).
