4. With the connector still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector.
• If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
• If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.

Test condition Test: Desired result
Combination light Attach to ground:
switch ON The dash lights, audio unit light,
and climate (or HVAC) control unit
light should come on full bright.
Combination light Attach to ground:
switch ON The moonroof switch light and
seat heater switch lights should
come on full bright.
Ignition switch ON Measure the voltage to ground:
(II), turn signal There should be battery voltage
switch in RIGHT when the lights are flashing.
Ignition switch ON Measure the voltage to ground:
(II), turn signal There should be battery voltage
switch in LEFT when the lights are flashing.
Disconnect the Check for continuity between the
driver's under- No. 18 terminal and the driver's
dash fuse/relay under-dash fuse/relay box
box connector P connector P (20P) No. 5 terminal:
(20P) There should be continuity.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be no continuity.
Disconnect the Check for continuity between the
driver's under- No. 19 terminal and the driver's
dash fuse/relay under-dash fuse/relay box
box connector P connector P (20P) No. 6 terminal:
(20P) There should be continuity.
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be no continuity.
Possible cause if desired result is
not obtained
• Faulty LEDs and bulbs
• An open in the wire
• Faulty LEDs and bulbs
• An open in the wire
• Faulty driver's MICU
• Faulty combination light switch
• An open in the wire
• Faulty driver's MICU
