Connect on Demand: Choose this option to open a connection only
when a user attempts to connect to the Internet. In the Maximum Idle
Time, enter the number of minutes of inactivity that will cause the
connection to be terminated. This option is recommended if your billing
is based on the time that you are connected.
PPTP Static: Select this option if your ISP uses PPTP (Point to Point
Tunneling Protocol) and gave you a static IP address. Complete the required
fields. Also complete the optional fields if the information was provided by
your ISP. Finally, configure your connection with the Keep Alive or Connect
On Demand option, as described below.

Keep Alive: Choose this option to use Keep Alive messages to keep the
connection permanently open, regardless of the level of Internet activity
by your users.

Connect on Demand: Choose this option to open a connection only
when a user attempts to connect to the Internet. In the Maximum Idle
Time, enter the number of minutes of inactivity that will cause the
connection to be terminated. This option is recommended if your billing
is based on the time that you are connected.
L2TP DHCP: Select this option if your ISP uses L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling
Protocol) and did not assign a static IP address to your account. Complete
the required fields. Also complete the optional fields if the information was
provided by your ISP. Finally, configure your connection with the Keep Alive
or Connect On Demand option, as described below. Note: One
disadvantage of using a dynamic IP address is that if your IP address
changes, your Cisco UC320W and all connected devices will reboot. Phone
service will be interrupted.
