Section 1: Introduction
This job card outlines how to install the RAID storage unit (Dell PowerVault 221S) with Centricity
RA600 (Dell 1400 platform) Work Group Server. The RAID unit is intended to be the primary short-
term image storage repository for the RA600 with Workgroup Server option.
For more detailed information on setting up the RAID unit, refe to the Dell Online Documentation
provided on CD-ROM with the Dell PowerVault 221S RAID unit. This information is also available on

Dell 1400 PowerEdge computer with Color monitor, keyboard and mouse

Dell PowerVault 221S with two connecting SCSI cables
Section 3: Procedure
1. Unpack and identify the system components:

Dell 1400 PowerEdge computer with keyboard, mouse and power cord

Color monitor with power cord and monitor connector cable
n
Dell PowerVault 221S RAID unit with two power cords and two SCSI-type cables.
When making cable connections, refer to the Dell connector illustrations that follow this procedure.
2. Connect the monitor cable between the monitor and the video controller.
