User Manual (ECC800e)
As flammable gases (hydrogen) are released during battery charge and discharge, install
batteries in a place that has proper ventilation and is at least 1 meter away from heat and
ignition sources, such as switches and fuses.
When installing batteries, insulate metal tools by using insulation tape and remove metal
objects from hands.
To prevent electric shocks, use insulation tools and wear electrostatic discharge (ESD)
gloves when installing and removing battery cables.
Keep the contact area between the copper bar and the battery output terminal clear and
connect them securely because a dirty contact area and insecure connection may cause
partial overtemperature, followed by potential fire accidents. When connecting individual
batteries in series by using tin-plated copper bar flat washers secured with stainless bolts,
tighten the bolts to a torque of at least 15 N· m.
When connecting batteries and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), switch the power
circuit breaker to off, check the voltages, and verify that battery terminals are connected to
the UPSs correctly.
To ensure good heat dissipation, keep a space of at least 10 mm between two adjacent
batteries.
When connecting multiple battery strings in parallel, connect cables for batteries in each
battery string in series and then install cables for the battery strings in parallel.
Before connecting battery strings and charging devices or loads, install cables for batteries
inside each battery string and check that the voltage of each battery string meets
requirements by using a multimeter.
When installing cables, tighten the battery terminal screws to a specified torque.
If a battery is used for the first time, check that the capacity parameter in the power system
agrees with the capacity of the battery.
Issue 07 (2019-12-20)
When 65 Ah or 100 Ah batteries are configured, the batteries are installed in four layers and each layer
houses five batteries. For 26 Ah or 40 Ah batteries, the batteries are installed in two layers at the bottom
and each layer houses 10 batteries.
