Internal 2G Modem - (GSM/GPRS)

8.1.1 Distinguishing the internal modem

The EK205-M with software version 1.07 supports 2G modem for remote data monitoring. The
modem to be used is "ECM-2G-UG350" (GSM/GPRS). Fig. 20 and Fig. 21 respectively shows the
built-in modem type used and its rating plate.
8.1.1.1 Hardware Setting for Modem
If the module has already been installed in the EK205-M at Elster (no retrofitting on site), the
modem types can also be configured in the EK205-M using the "MdxS3" setting in the following
menu "Serv. - Interfaces – internal modem – Hardware
Device driver serial interface "MdxS2"
Interface signal configuration "Cfgl2"
Type serial interface "Typ S2"

Before using the EK205-M for the first time, connect the battery to the modem. It has not
been connected at the factory in order to avoid an unnecessary load on the battery!
