Push the metal bracket in the SIM card slot back halfway (towards right in Fig. 24), and flip open the
cover (see Fig. 25).

Only SIM card slot A should be used while using the EK205-M. SIM card slot B usage is not
recommended.

Insert the SIM card from the rear into the card slot (in the lid), so that the gold contacts face
downwards in the closed end and the bevelled side is at the open end of the lid (see Fig. 26).

Click the lid shut again and gently slide the metal bracket outwards towards left to close the lock.

Re-connect the modem and basic device battery.

Before using the EK205-M for the first time, connect the battery to the modem. It has not
been connected at the factory in order to avoid an unnecessary load on the battery!

For EK205-M powered with external supply for basic device, switch-on the external power supply after
re-connecting the modem battery supply.

Close the housing cover and retighten the screws.
