Correct power-on process of the storage system: connecting to the external power supply (the
Fibre Channel switches and storage unit disk enclosures are powered on) → powering on
Ethernet switches (turning on the power switches) → powering on storage unit controller
enclosures (pressing the power button on the front panel of each storage unit controller enclosure)
→ powering on the clustered NAS engine enclosures.
Correct power-off process of the storage system: stopping services → powering off clustered
NAS engine enclosures (running the cluster shutdown all command.) → powering off storage
unit controller enclosures (pressing the power button on the front panel of each storage unit
controller enclosure and holding it for five seconds) → powering off storage unit disk enclosures
(disconnecting from the power supply) → powering off Fibre Channel switches (disconnecting
from the power supply) → powering off Ethernet switches (turning off the power switches)
→ disconnecting from external power supplies.
Do not wear the ESD wrist strap during power-on to avoid electric shocks.
Procedure
Step 1 Set all switches on the PDU or PDB to On.
Step 2 Set the power switch on the Ethernet switch to the On position.
Wait about 1 minute for the RUN indicator to be blinking green after you press a power switch.
Step 3 Confirm that power cables are connected.
Wait about three minutes until the system status LED indicator and power LED indicator are
green on, as shown in the following figure.
Step 4 Press the power button of the SUC.
Wait about 3 minutes for the power indicator to be green on.
Issue 02 (2015-09-22)
Strictly follow the power-on sequence. Power on the next device only after the current
device has been powered on.
During the power-on process, do not remove any module or any connected cable.
After the device is powered on, do not change the connection mode of any cable online
(except that the connection mode of maintenance cables can be changed if necessary).
