The physical and virtual IP address segments do not contain the console IP address and SUC
management port IP address. This means that the management IP address and the virtual IP
address are physically independent of each other.
The iSCSI port of the disk array and the management network port cannot reside on the same
network segment.
Laying out service network ports
If a service network port becomes faulty, its virtual IP address can drift to another service network
port. This provides service network redundancy to ensure uninterrupted customer services.
Virtual IP addresses drift only among ports of the same port number across different clustered
NAS engine nodes. You are advised to connect all these nodes of the same port number to the
service network. This prevents virtual IP addresses from drifting to service network ports
disconnected from the network.

After planning the network configuration, network administrators must set network parameters,
and recording the physical IP address, virtual IP address (service IP address), and console IP
address (management IP address) shown in
Table 2-4 IPv4 address configuration table

ports (which include the initially deployed ports and the expansion ports) and management
