17.1 How to Plug and Unplug an Optical Fiber

To plug an optical fiber, perform the following steps:
1. Install an optical transceiver.
a. Remove the protective cap from the optical transceiver, as shown in step 1 of
Figure 17-1.
b. Insert the optical transceiver into the Fibre Channel port, as shown in step 2 of
Figure 17-1.

2. Plug an optical fiber.
a. Remove protective caps on the optical fiber connector, as shown in step 1 of
Figure 17-2.
b. Attach the optical fiber to the Fibre Channel port, as shown in step 2 of
17-2.

NOTE
Insert the optical fiber until it snaps into place.
While pressing the anti-loosing buckle on the optical fiber connector, pull out the fiber
optical, as shown in Figure
