Installers are required to understand the functional components of the system. Refer to the
documentation provided for information on all system devices before installation.

Interface Introduction

RK-MCU Master Control Unit

Audio Input
There are 3 audio inputs on the rear panel of the RK-MCU, which can be connected to external audio
devices. AUX 1 and AUX 2 can be connected to the external audio source by RCA plugs. The signal
level of both inputs should be less than 1 V, shielded cable with RCA terminals is recommended.
MIC/LINE input uses an XLR interface, through which the differential signal can be input. The Input
type can be set as a microphone or line-in via the DIP switch beside the interface. The MIC/LINE
interface can output 24V DC phantom power and can be set on or off by the DIP switch.

Power Amplifier Interface
Power amplifier interfaces are used to connect a power amplifier to the external Master Control Unit.
Audio, control, and fault signals, such as self-testing, power-saving information, and power
fault/protection is transferred between the controller and power amplifier via this interface.
RK-MCU has 3 RJ-45 ports for power amplifier interfacing, to be used to connect to the amplifiers
which correspond to audio channel 1, audio channel 2 and a spare amplifier. It is recommended to
use premade cables to connect power amplifiers.
