4.17 Notification Appliance/Auxiliary Power Circuits

NOTE: These circuits are considered regulated unless used for releasing type service, in which case they are considered special applications.
Four outputs are built-in to the IFP-300 FACP which can be programmed to be used as NACs (Class A or Class B) or as aux power. This sec-
tion of the manual explains how to install conventional notification appliances and how these terminals can be used for auxiliary power.
4.17.1 Conventional Notification Appliance
This sub-section of the manual explains how to install conventional notification appliances for Class A and Class B configurations.
Class B Notification Wiring
You must use compatible appliances. For a list of compatible appliances, refer to the Device Compatibility Document.
To install a Class B notification appliance circuit:
1.
Wire Class B Notification appliances as shown below.
2.
Configure the circuit through programming (see Section 8.6).
Max. Impedance: 1.5Ω
Class A Notification Wiring
You must use compatible appliances. For a list of compatible appliances, refer to the Device Compatibility Document.
To install a Class A notification appliance circuit:
1.
Wire the Class A notification appliances as shown below.
CAUTION: SYSTEM SUPERVISION

FOR PROPER SYSTEM SUPERVISION DO NOT USE LOOPED WIRE UNDER TERMINALS MARKED – AND + OF THE
NAC CIRCUIT. BREAK WIRE RUNS TO PROVIDE SUPERVISION OF CONNECTIONS.
