The return to neutral mechanism is designed to return the transmission/hydraulic
pump control lever to a neutral position (no left or right movement of the drive
roller), and return the motion control pedals to a position directly across from
each other when the motion control pedals are released.
This procedure involves checking and adjusting the control arm setting at the
transmission/hydraulic pump first, then checking and adjusting the motion control
linkage.
Use a suitable lifting device to safely raise and support the machine
to access the components under the chassis.
1. Park the machine on a clean, level surface and set the transport wheels to
the lowered and locked position. Place a jack stand under the front of the
chassis to prevent the machine from tipping forward. The drive roller must
be off the ground and free to rotate.
2. Remove the transmission cover from the machine; refer to the
the Transmission Cover (page
3. Ensure that the entire motion control linkage assembly is secure and moves
freely in both directions; refer to
(page
7–15).
4. Remove the linkage rod from the transmission control arm
