General notes on the X11 server architecture

CentricStor is monitored and controlled by the interoperation of three components:
the X11 server, which presents the graphics formatted by GXCC and controls the actual
man/machine interface,
the Global Extended Control Center GXCC, which on the one hand exchanges infor-
mation with the InfoBroker and prepares this information in graphical form as required,
and on the other hand responds to events at the man/machine interface (e.g.
movements of the mouse pointer, keyboard input, etc.),

Some X11 servers have difficulty with cascaded menus. The problem occurs when
an attempt is made to move the mouse pointer from a menu entry onto an
associated, cascaded submenu. The submenu is then closed immediately, with the
result that the desired function cannot be selected. In this case an alternative X11
server should be installed.
