3.14.7 Troubleshooting

Condition
The inverter is not detected by the
"Scan Network" function.
"Ethernet" cannot be selected in
"Select Ethernet Adapter" window.
An error occurs when the network is
scanned.
An error occurs during firmware
update (inverter reset) via Ethernet
when multiple inverters are connected
in line topology.
An error occurs during firmware
update via Ethernet when multiple
inverters are connected.
Firmware update fails.
After firmware update of the FR-E800
series inverter failed, the firmware
cannot be updated again.

3.14 Firmware update
Possible cause
The IP address of the inverter is not specified.
The IP address of the personal computer is not
specified.
The Ethernet cable is not connected or broken.
The same IP address is used for the personal
computer and the inverter.
The Ethernet cable is not connected or broken.
When Ethernet is selected for the network adapter,
the Ethernet cable is not connected or the network
is scanned while the cable is broken.
Too many inverters are to be scanned.
The relay station is reset during firmware update
and the communication with the subsequent
inverters is disconnected.
For firmware update when multiple inverters are
connected, a communication delay occurs due to
relay delays.
The inverter power is OFF.
USB or Ethernet connection is improper.
Power is supplied to the inverter from the USB port
or a 24 V external power supply, or the FR-
PU07BB.
Corrective action
Check the IP address of the inverter.
Check the IP address of the personal computer.
Connect or replace the Ethernet cable.
Check the IP address of the inverter.
Connect or replace the Ethernet cable.
Set a network adapter again.
Scan 512 or less inverters connected via
Ethernet.
Set the reset time longer to reset all the
connected inverters simultaneously.
Set the timeout time longer.
Update the firmware again.
Remove all the power sources and turn ON the
main circuit power supply, then update the
firmware again (after connecting the USB cable
for the update via a USB connector).
