The following table describes the Stacking Switch commands.
Note: The following commands are available only on the master switch.

Stacking Switch Options
Command Syntax and Usage
stack switchnumber <configured switch number (1‐8)> bind
<attached switch number (1‐16)>
Binds the selected switch to the stack, based on its attached switch number.
Note: Binding the switch to a stack resets port numbering.
Command mode: Global configuration
stack switchnumber <configured switch number (1‐8)> description
<1‐63 characters>
Sets a description for the configured switch.
Command mode: Global configuration
no stack switchnumber <configured switch number (1‐8)> description
Deletes the description of the configured switch.
Command mode: Global configuration
stack switchnumber <configured switch number (1‐8)> mac <MAC address>
Binds the selected switch to the stack, based on its MAC address.
Note: Binding the switch to a stack resets port numbering.
Command mode: Global configuration
no stack switchnumber <configured switch number (1‐8)>
Deletes the selected switch from the stack.
Command mode: Global configuration
show stack attachedswitches
Displays the current stacking switch parameters.
Command mode: All
