2.1 Verifying the installation

2.1.1.
After the transmitter is installed and powered up, you can verify communication between the
transmitter and the field devices on the network.

Verifying transmitter installation tasks

Check that the device is installed in
the correct physical location.
Match the device identification with
the physical location.
The device serial number is stamped
on the transmitter housing top
nameplate.
On the operator interface, check and
make sure communications are
established with the device on the
Fieldbus network.
Check that the Device Tag and node
address are set. If not, assign the
Device Tag and the correct node
address.
The Device Tag and address can be
set and viewed using the Fieldbus
device configurator application. Use a
Device Tag name (up to 16
characters) that does not contain
spaces.
Using a Fieldbus configuration
program, create a function block
application as part of the device
configuration and process control
strategy.
Bring the network online, verify
operation, tune loops, and so on.
ATTENTION
It is recommended to wait for 40 seconds when the transmitter is
power cycled.
