Precautions
Pay attention to the following during device replacement:
Preparing Tools
Replacing a device
Step 1 Determine the installation position of the USG device to be replaced and attach a
replacement label on the panel of the device to avoid misoperations.
Step 2 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
Step 3 Disconnect the power supply device from the USG device to be replaced. When
the PWR indicator on the USG device is off, you can proceed with subsequent
operations.
Step 4 Remove the cables from the USG device to be replaced and attach labels that
specify interface numbers to the cables.
Step 5 Remove the USG device to be replaced.
For a device installed on a workbench, you only need to move the device away.
For a device installed on a wall, use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the M6 screws
on the mounting ears at both ends of the device, and remove the device from the
wall with both hands. For a device installed in a cabinet, perform the following
steps to remove it:

If a device can still be started, save and back up the configuration data before
powering off the device. Otherwise, the configuration will be lost.
If a device with a hard disk can still be started, run the disk offline command
in the system view. Wait for about 30 seconds. After the system displays a
message indicating that the hard disk stops working, remove the hard disk
unit to be replaced. Alternatively, hold down the OFL button for about 4
seconds until the OFL indicator turns on, and then remove the hard disk unit.
Do not directly remove the power cable or disconnect the power supply to
power off the USG device. Otherwise, data loss and hard disk damage may
occur.
To prevent a USG device from falling down, hold the device tightly with both
hands while removing or installing it.
Be careful of the heat when replacing the USG device.
In a hot standby scenario, ensure that the model and software version of the
new USG device are the same as those of the standby USG device.

Phillips screwdriver

Remove the power cables, service cables, and ground cables from the USG device to be
replaced in sequence.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the M6 screws on the mounting ears at
both ends of the USG device.
