System Components
Handsets
The Strata AirLink wireless handset
(Figure
9) is small, lightweight, easy to
use, and operates the same in the
integrated and external wireless system.
Feature access depends on the office
telephone system. The System
Administrator can provide information
specific to the telephone system.
Electronic Serial Numbers (ESNs) are
programmed into the handsets at the
factory and are automatically configured
the first time a call is made. They are
unique to each handset.
There is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
for alphanumeric information and icons
that report handset status.

battery and handset conditions.
Turns the power ON and OFF.
Performs hookflash functions.
Enables features with the use of other
buttons; for example, Call Forward,
Transfer, Speed Dial, and Conference.
Increases listening volume and scrolls
forward through menu options.
Decreases listening volume and scrolls
backward through menu options.
Toggles handset between alpha and
numeric modes.
Recalls numbers stored in memory.
Stores Speed Dial numbers/names and
the idle message.
