5.17 General setup
The functions for the basic setup of the instrument are
described in Chapter 4.5 Important default settings:
● Language (see page 4-13)
● Units (see page 4-14)
● Date format, date, time (see page 4-15)
Additional settings for the setup of the USM 36 are de-
scribed below.
USM 36

EVAL MODE

This is where you can choose a method for evaluating
the measured reflector echoes.
Depending on the options activated, you can choose
from different methods:
● dB REF (default setting, see page 5-37)
● DAC/TCG (see page 5-93)
● DGS (see page 5-121)
● AWS D1.1 (see page 5-40)
● JISDAC (see page 5-104)
● CNDAC (see page 5-111)
– Switch to the second operating level.
– Select the function group EVAL.
– Select the function EVAL MODE.
– Select the required evaluation method.
