2. Controlling Side A and Side B

The transfer drum retains as many as two sheets of paper at the same time. As such, two signal
plates operating in conjunction with the transfer drum and the sensors (PS2, side A sensor; PS3,
side B sensor) found inside the transfer drum are used to generate image leading signals of their
own (ITOP-A, ITOP-B).
