B. Controlling the Reciprocating Mechanism of the Cleaning
Blade
The reciprocating mechanism for the cleaning blade is turned on for the following:
1. To remove foreign matter (paper lint) clogging the gap between the cleaning blade and the
photosensitive drum.
2. Reducing adhesion of toner on the cleaning blade or the photosensitive drum.
