4.4.4 Select the interpretation source
The source for interpretation is selected with the floor
key (see figure 4.1). The key toggles between the
following sources:

Source Description
Floor The floor language is the source
for interpretation. When selected,
the floor LED lights up.
Auto-relay If an auto-relay is available, the
interpreter desk automatically
switches to the auto-relay and the
auto-relay LED lights up. Press the
floor key to switch back to the floor.
Press the floor key again to go
back to auto-relay translation.

Note
When the desk is activated, the floor is
automatically selected as the source. The last
selected source is not stored when the desk is
deactivated.

Auto-relay
4.4.5 Listen to a preselected channel
Press the desired preselect channel key (a, b, c, d, e) to
listen to a preselected channel. The label above the
pressed key is displayed in reverse text. For example:

It is possible for interpreters to switch to their own
channel. However, in first instance, the desk regards this
as a fault situation, because it is possible to have
acoustical feedback between the headphones and the
microphone connected to the interpreter desk. Instead
of switching to the own channel when the microphone
is switched on, the desk switches automatically to the
floor. Select the own channel again to go to the own
channel.
4.4.6 Assigning a channel to a prese-
lect channel key
The desk has 5 preselect channel keys (a, b, c, d, e). All
keys can be set to one of the available channels, but not
to the floor. To assign a channel to a preselect channel
key, press-and-hold the preselect channel key and rotate
the select knob to scroll to the desired channel. To
assign channel 1 to a preselect channel key,
press-and-hold the key and press the select knob.
Note
When the desk is switched to the installation
mode and back to the operational mode again,
the channel-key combinations are lost.
