Initialization

30. 1

Introduction

When all units in the system have been installed, the
system must be initialized and made ready for use. The
initialisation procedure enables all installed units to be
recognized by the CCU (LBB4100/00). Recognition is
given in the form of an address, allocated by the CCU
to each active unit in the system. A de-init switch
located at the units is used to clear the units allocated
address when conflicts occur.

30.2 Stand-alone system

Note
Step 1 is normally not required for systems that
are powered up for the first time. These systems
are already de-initialized, therefore proceed with
step 3 after switching on the CCU for the first
time.
Step 1: Clearing addresses
Switch on the CCU and use the 'turn-and-push' menu
button to go to submenu 3B of the interactive menu:
3B Initialize...
Push the button to enter the Initialize submenu. The
following question is shown:
3B Initialize
Are you sure?No
Turn the button to select Yes:

Push the button to confirm the choice to clear the
addresses allocated to the units (i.e. de-initialize the
units). After the address of a unit has been cleared, its
LEDs illuminate.
Note
If the LEDs do not illuminate, remove the power
from the system and repeat step 1.
Step 2: Allocating addresses
After all addresses have been cleared, new addresses
must be assigned to the units in the system (i.e. they
have to be initialized).
To initialize a unit, press the microphone key of the unit
while all LEDs are lit. Once pressed and the LEDs go
out, the unit is recognized by the CCU.
Note
Initialize all units one-by-one to avoid addressing
problems.
Note
Preferably, the initialisation of all units is carried
out by one person to avoid addressing
problems.

30.3 PC based system

The initialisation of a PC-based system is identical to
that of a stand-alone system.
