4.4.3 (Optional) Performing a Leakage Test with Nitrogen

Prerequisites
Context
A reducing valve must be installed on the head of the nitrogen cylinder. The outlet
pressure of the reducing valve must not be greater than 0.8 MPa.
Procedure
Step 1 Check that the needle valve and exhaust valve on the pipeline are closed.
Step 2 Connect a reducing valve and a nitrogen cylinder at the needle valve position
shown in the following figure, inject 0.8 MPa of nitrogen (the pressure should
reach 0.8 MPa after it is stabilized), and wait for 24 hours.

Step 3 After 24 hours, if the pressure drop is less than 0.01 MPa, the pipes do not leak.

You can decide whether a leakage test with nitrogen needs to be performed
or not based on the site situation.
