onto the leg, then press the FOLLOW LEG menu key, then
press the ENTER key. In this case, your cross-track error starts
at a number that's your distance from that leg. The leg you're
currently navigating along is displayed with arrows indicating
your direction of travel; other legs are displayed with fewer
arrows.
When travelling from one waypoint to another, you may find
you've gone off your planned course line. Maybe you avoided
an obstacle or drifted slightly off-course. Whenever you're
off-course, you can get back by one of two methods:
after passing the obstacle, you can steer your vessel back
to the original course line by using the cross-track error
display, and just continue to the waypoint (Course 1
below)
after passing the obstacle, if you don't have to go back to
your original course line, you can go right to the next
waypoint by using the 958's restart function (Course 2
below)
