Configuring Layer 2 Failover

1. Specify the links to monitor.
2. Specify the links to disable when the failover limit is reached.
3. Configure general Failover parameters.

This section provides important information about configuring Layer 2 Failover.
 Any specific failover trigger can monitor ports only, static LAGs only, or LACP
LAGs only. The different types cannot be combined in the same trigger.
A maximum of 64 LACP keys can be added per trigger.

 Management ports and stacking ports cannot be monitored.
Control ports for different triggers must not overlap. Monitor ports may

overlap.
Use the following procedure to configure a Layer 2 Failover Manual Monitor.
>> # failover trigger 1 mmon monitor member 1­5
>> # failover trigger 1 mmon control member 6­10
>> # failover enable
>> # failover trigger 1 enable
>> # failover trigger 1 limit 2
