REMOVING THE HANDLEBARS

1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

WARNING
Securely support the vehicle so that there is
no danger of it falling over.
2. Remove:
Handlebar grip "1"
G
TIP
Blow compressed air between the left handlebar
and the handlebar grip, and gradually push the
grip off the handlebar.
3. Disconnect:
Clutch switch connector
G
4. Remove:
Left handlebar switch "1"
G
Clutch cable "2"
G
Clutch lever holder "3"
G

5. Remove:
Right handlebar switch "1"
G
Throttle grip "2"
G
Throttle cable
G
6. Disconnect:
Front brake light switch connector
G
7. Remove:
Front brake master cylinder holder "3"
G
Front brake master cylinder
G
Upper handlebar holder
G
Handlebar
G

CHECKING THE HANDLEBAR

1. Check:
Handlebar "1"
G
Bends/cracks/damage → Replace.

WARNING
Do not attempt to straighten a bent handle-
bar as this may dangerously weaken it.

INSTALLING THE HANDLEBAR

1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.

WARNING
Securely support the vehicle so that there is
no danger of it falling over.
2. Install:
Lower handlebar holders
G
TIP
Temporarily tighten the lower handle bar holder
nuts
3. Install:
Handlebar "1"
G
Upper handlebar holders "2"
G
Upper handlebar holder caps "3"
G
Upper handlebar holder bolt
24 Nm (2.4 m·kgf, 17 ft·lbf)
