Managing the Speed-Dial Directory
This section contains the following information:

Speed Dialing on the CTS Cisco Unified IP Phone

Speed dialing is a standard Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Cisco Unified CM) function and
is supported on the Cisco TelePresence System (CTS) Cisco Unified IP Phone. The speed-dial list
associated with the Cisco Unified IP Phone allows phone numbers to be readily accessed and meetings
to be quickly connected to from the manual call user interface.
Use Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration to configure speed-dial buttons for phones
if you want to provide speed-dial buttons for users or if you are configuring phones that do not have a
specific user who is assigned to them. Users use the Cisco Unified CM User Options menu to change the
speed-dial buttons on their phones.
The Cisco Unified IP phone user interface accepts 40 phone numbers (numbered 3 to 42), which can be
managed from the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Speed Dial and Abbreviated Dial
Configuration window.

Adding Speed-Dial Numbers

To add speed-dial numbers to the CTS Cisco Unified IP phone, follow these steps:
Step 1
Log in to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration interface.
Step 2
From the Device drop-down menu, select Phone. The Find and List Phones Page appears.
Step 3
Enter your search criteria in the fields provided and click Find.
Step 4
Click on the phone that you want to configure with speed-dial buttons. The Phone Configuration window
for that phone appears.
Step 5
Click the Related Links drop-down list box at the top right side of the window.
Choose Add/Update Speed Dials and click Go. The Speed Dial and Abbreviated Dial Configuration
