Honeywell Avionics Equipment Instruction Manual. Standard repair procedures are shop
repairs that use the same procedures on many types of assemblies. Use the standard repair
procedures and approved local shop procedures.

Standard Repair Procedures (Subtask 33-30-15-300-003-A01)
CAUTION:
DO NOT CHANGE SURFACE FINISH OR PART SHAPE OR EXCEED WEAR
LIMITS. FAILURE TO COMPLY CAN RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE PART.
(1)
Remove minor surface corrosion with correct abrasive cloth.
(2)
Remove nicks, gouges, scratches or small burrs as follows:
(a)
Remove any raised material with a very fine file.
(b)
Blend damaged area into adjacent surfaces.
(c)
Polish areas with correct abrasive cloth.

Surface Finish Procedure (Subtask 33-30-15-210-004-A01)
(1)
This procedure must be used for touch up of scratches and minor surface defects of chromate
coated parts.
(a)
Repair area if required. Refer to Paragraph 2.C. (Subtask 33-30-15-300-003-A01), for
details.
(b)
If not already done, cover areas not to be treated with masking tape.
(c)
Touch up procedure to damaged areas is permitted if the reworked area does not exceed
5 percent of the total item surface area. If the area exceeds 5 percent of the total item
surface, replace the part.
(d)
Touch up damaged areas with an 1132 alodine pen.
NOTE:

Clean area to be treated. Refer to CLEANING (PGBLK 33-30-15-4000) for details.
(f)
Remove cap from the 1132 alodine pen to activate
(g)
Hold with applicator tip down on the surface to be treated.

Do not saturate the pen tip, as long as the pen wets the surface, an adequate
film will form.
An uneven appearance in the dry film is normal.
