Replace all damaged or worn parts. This prevents possible failures of the equipment.

Clean the parts before performing any check. Refer to CLEANING (PGBLK 33-30-15-4000),
for details.

Use 2X magnification and an amplified light to check the parts.
(5)
Repair or replace the parts that exceed limits. Refer to REPAIR (PGBLK 33-30-15-6000), for
details. Use parts within limits for assembly. Refer to ASSEMBLY (PGBLK 33-30-15-7000), for
details.
B.
Standard Checks (Subtask 33-30-15-210-002-A01)
(1)
Examine the parts for nicks, gouges, scratches or small burrs. If any are deeper than 0.03 inch
(0.8 mm), replace part. Refer to REPAIR (PGBLK 33-30-15-6000) to repair minor damage.
(2)
Examine the parts for corrosion. If deeper than 0.03 inch (0.8 mm) or more than 20 percent
of surface is damaged, replace part. Refer to REPAIR (PGBLK 33-30-15-6000) to repair
minor damage.
(3)
Examine aluminum parts for nicks and scratches. If more than 5 percent of the surface is
damaged, replace the part. Refer to REPAIR (PGBLK 33-30-15-6000) to repair minor damage.
(4)
Visually inspect threaded parts for distortion or stripping. If damaged, replace the part.
(5)
Examine the lamp (5, IPL Figure 1) and the lens assembly (-20) for cracks or breaks. If
damaged, replace the parts.
(6)
Examine the connector (85) and the lampholder (105) for cracks, distortion, bent electrical
contacts (90) or signs of burned connections. If damaged, replace the parts.
(7)
Examine the reflector (135) for dents, cracks or breaks. If damaged, replace the part.
(8)
Examine the electrical wires for cracks, breaks or deterioration of insulation. If damaged,
replace.
C.
Job Close-up (Subtask 33-30-15-210-003-A01)
(1)
Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.
