Note for the settings of PLC
If the PLC does not allow data writing in RUN mode, the PV310 cannot write data, resulting in
communication error. If you use the PLC that can select either allow or forbid the PV310 to write data, set
to allow data writing.
For Mitsubishi A- and Q- series PLC:
You can use only the special protocol for MELSEC A-series computer link unit, "Format 4", to
communicate properly (Formats 1, 2, 3 and 5, which are the special protocols for Q series, are not
available). Make sure that Format 4 is set in the PLC and the settings are valid.
Also, set Sum check to "Yes".
For Mitsubishi FX- series PLC:
Store "0" in the register for specifying communication format
Register for specifying communication format: D8120 (or D8420)
For Allen-Bradley SLC500,
Configure the following settings:
- Duplicate Detect: OFF
- ACK Timeout (*20 ms): 20
- Control Line: NO HANDSHAKING
- Error Detect: BCC
- NAK Retries: 3
- ENQ Retries: 0
- Embedded Responses: AUTO DETECT
(Only integer registers are available.)
Connecting with PLC
Refer to page 40 for serial connection with the PLCs.
Be sure to connect cables to the following terminals on the terminal block even in the computer link communication
to control them accordance with the PV310 state.

Output Data
When PV310 executes inspection, the following data are output from serial port (COM1 only).
The items that have been set to output in the "General Output" tab by selecting "ENVIRONMENT" > "Data Output
Settings" from the menu bar.

Output Settings
In the following cases, the data of each of Scans, Numeric Calculation, and Statistics are not output to the serial
port (unset registers are skipped).
Each data is set to "Out" under the "General Output" tab, but the setting data do not exist.
The setting data exist, but each data is set to "None" under the "General Output" tab.
