6.13 Position Adjustment (Binary Edge)
6.13.1 Setting Procedure
The procedures for detecting and setting edges in vertical and horizontal search areas are almost the same as
those used for "Binary Edge". (See page 96.) In this section, the functional differences between Position
Adjustment (Binary Edge) and Binary Edge are described.
Priority
The Priority function is effective if an object moves largely either vertically or horizontally. When the object moves
largely in the horizontal direction, set "Priority" to "Horizontal". When it moves largely in the vertical direction, set
"Priority" to "Vertical".
Different condition for each area
Different condition to detect an edge can be set for horizontal area and vertical area. However, the following items
must be set the same.
•
Camera

Running a test Uising Horizontal /Vertical Search Areas
Before saving a base position, you can perform a test to check whether or not edges were detected in a vertical
or horizontal search area. When a live image is currently displayed, capture a new image first and begin the test.
When a memory image is displayed, run a test using the currently displayed memory image without capturing any
images.
1.
Select "POS. ADJ. (EDGE)".
2.
Press the A key while the tab or item under the tab is highlighted.
If no edge is detected, the following error code will appear in the message area.
E0044
Check to make sure that the error code does not appear or that the edges were detected.
