10.1 Communications via Parallel Port

10.1.1 Input from the External Device

Operation that is triggered by inputting from the external device
The following operation can be performed by entering a signal to each terminal of the parallel port on PV310 from
the external device.
Input / Output
Input:
The operations shown right can be
triggered by inputting signals from
the external device
*With some settings, specifying Type No. by IN1 - 6 is ineffective. Refer to Page 288.

10.1.2 The Data Output from the PV310

The data that are output from the PV310 during inspection
The following signals can be output from the parallel ports D1 - D8 during inspection. If you set "Handshake" to
"No" by selecting "Data Output Settings" > "Parallel Output" from the "ENVIRONMENT" menu, only Judgment
from JD01 to 08 are output. If you set "Handshake" to "Yes", the data of the items that have been set to output are
output in the following orders.
Input / Output
Output:
The data shown right can be
output from PV310 during
inspection
If the PV310 is in User-Defined mode or Autom. Switch mode, only some of the data of
the items 1 to 4 in the table above are output.
Output settings
In the following cases, the data of each of Scans, Judgment Results, Numeric Calculation, and Statistics are
output only once per item by replacing all of the output data lengths with 0.
Each data is set to "Out", but the outputting data do not exist (or has not been configured).
The setting data exist, but each data is set to "None".
Output data length
The data of the items 1, 3 and 4 in the table shown on the previous page are output according to the bit length
set by selecting "ENVIRONMENT" > "Data Output Settings" > "Parallel Output" > "Data Type". The data range
of each data length is as follows:
8-bit: 0 to 255
16-bit: 0 to 65535 (8-bit data are output in two divided data.)
32-bit: -2147483648 to +2147483647 (8-bit dada are output in four divided data.)
For 32-bit data, negative numbers are output in the tows complement form. For 8-bit and 16 bit number,
negative numbers overflow.
If each data exceed the data range above, the data are output according the specified bit length and
also 00000001 and overflow (OVF) signal are output as well. For example, If 8-bit data length and data
values are 257 (100000001 in 2-digit form), 00000001 and overflow signal are output.
