Step 6 Check that the new cable is properly connected.
Power on the server, and ping the IP address of the peer device. If the peer device cannot be
pinged, check whether the cable is intact or the connectors are securely connected. If the peer
device cannot be pinged, check whether the cable is intact or the connectors are securely

Connect the new SFP+ cable.
Remove the dust-proof cap on the port, and insert the cable connector into the port. See
Figure 4-18.
NOTE
When you hear a "click" sound and the cable cannot be pulled out, the connector is securely
connected.
