Clean
the AE sensor filter. (Do not directly clean the
surface of the AE sensor)
Wipe the surface of the auto exposure sensor filter with
a cloth dampened with water or alcohol.
NOTE:
Wiping with a dry cloth will impart an electro-
static charge to the sensor and will attract more
dust.
Caution:
Caution in replacing the AE sensor.
There are three kinds of slit plates for the service
parts of AE sensor.
First of all, use the slit plate of the medium gap
when installing the AE sensor. Perform the copy
quality adjustment,
and check
to see that the
optimum copy is produced in the auto exposure
mode. If it could not be adjusted to the optimum
density
after the auto
exposure
copy
quality
adjustment, use other kind of the slit for adjust-
ment.
Case-1:;
In case the optimum density is not attained after
the adjustment in the auto exposure mode because
the copy tone is too dense even if the VR202
is
fully set clockwise,
use
the slit (1) that has a
narrower gap for adjustment.
Case-2:
In case the optimum density is not attained after
the adjustment in the auto exposure mode because
the copy tone is too light even
if the VR202
is
fully set counterclockwise, use the slit 8) that has
a wider gap for adjustment.
