®@
Lens (zoom lens)
The zoom
lens is of the four-group type.
Lens to lens
distance
varies
according
to
magnification
ratio
to
establish the required focal distance.
The original to drum distance is fixed which eliminates
the use of conventional mechanisms in which the focus
is adjusted by moving the mirrors for a change of the
original
to drum
distance.
Replacement
of individual
lens is not permitted. It must be replaced by a lens base
unit.

AE sensor
;
Intensity of original image is sensed by the light from
the copy lamp, and result is transferred to the CL Reg
PWB for automatic exposure control.

Copy lamp
A 280W halogen lamp is used.
®
Exposure control plates
Exposure control plates are used to balance exposure by
adjusting them along the oval hole.
®
Thermal fuse
A 150°C (100V series), (200V series 109°C) thermal
fused
is used to protect the optical system
from
an
irregular temperature rise.

Exposure control plates,
A and B
To maintain optimum light exposure on the drum in any
magnification
ratio, a portion
of
light is shut off be-
tween
the
lens and
drum
to vary
the exposure
rate
according to the given magnification ratio. The exposure
contro! plate moves according to the movement of the
lens.
®@ Dark box interfacing PWB
This PWB interfaces signals from the main PWB, stepping
motor, and Jens sensor.
