(6) MS5, 6, 7 position adjustments
The MSS, 6, and 7 must be adjusted for any of the follow-
ing reasons:
®
When the No.1 mirror base is moved.
@) Take note of the number on the label bonded on the
lens base unit.
(@) Loosen screws that hold the MS5/6/7 holding bracket
which
is located
on the upper right side of the rear
frame. Move the bracket in the arrow direction until
the scale on the bracket matches the number
in the
label,

(7) Copy lead edge adjustment
Standards
Lead edge void area: 2.0t1.5mm
Lead edge image loss: 1.0£0.5mm
The copy lead edge must be adjusted whenever the follow-
ing component is replaced or removed.

For the SF-7200,
the original table lead edge alignment
point
is provided

plate, that is, at the edge of the white painted area.
The original table lead edge alignment point is detected by
the MS6
microswitch. Where the MS6 actuated after the
original table is moved forward, is determined
to be the
lead edge reference point. The location of the adjustable
MS6 actuator is provided on the original table.
By adjusting the location of the MS6 actuator, it enables a
match of the original lead edge position with the drum lead
edge position. If the MS6 location is not adjusted properly,
variations occur in the lead edge void area when copies are
made in different magnification ratio.

To match
the drum
lead edge with the lead edge of the
copy paper, the CPU starts to count time upon the actua-
tion of the MS6. The PSC is actuated in connection with
the counter.
The PSC actuating timing can be adjusted
using test command 50.
(ADJUSTING PROCEDURE)
CZ) Turn the MS6 adjusting screw fully clockwise.

(2) Execute the test command
50 and preset the value
"30".
a. Enter test command 50.
@
Press the following sequence of keys:
Clear >
Repeat > Zero > Pause > 5 > Zero >
PSW keys.
The
previously
stored
value
(the
contents
of
PSC-a memory) is displayed as a number between
30 and 70.
b. Enter the preset number of "30" and press the PSW.
@) Make one each copy of x0.7 and x2.0.
(@ Measure the lead edge void area A of the x2.0 copy and
the lead edge void area B of the x0.7 copy.
