STEP 5. Discharge Corona (+5.07KV DC, 118uA)
The negative charge on the drum surface is removed by
the positive
potential
from
the discharge corona.
The
attraction
power
of the toner
on
the drum
surface
becomes weaker.
STEP 6. Cleaning
Toner remaining on the drum is collected by the cleaner
blade and deposited in the toner collecting container.

STEP 7. Discharge Lamp
Light from the discharge lamp exposes the drum surface
to reduce the electrical resistance in the OPC layer. This
removes the residual surface charge.
