Troubleshooting Flowchart - Shift Control Solenoid Valve A
• aBO II Scan Tool indicates
Code P0753.
• Self-diagnosis

tor light blinks seven times.
If the PGM Tester is available,
retrieve the
NT
Freeze Data, then
clear the PCM.
Test-drive the vehicle under the
same conditions the Freeze Data
was recorded.
Did the code return?
YES
Check for a Short to Power:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the B (25P) and 0
(16P) connectors from the
peM.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON
(II).
4. Measure the voltage between
the 07 and 820 or 822 termi-
nals.
Is there voltage?
NO
Measure Shift Control Solenoid
Valve A Resistance:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Measure
the
resistance
between the 07 and 820 or
822 terminals.
Is the
resistance 12 - 25
m
NO

Possible Cause
• Disconnected shift control solenoid valve AlB assembly connector
• Short or open in shift control solenoid valve

• Faulty shift control solenoid valve A
• Open in
VB
SOL wire
Intermittent failure. The system
is OK at this time. Check the fit
of the pins in all connectors
affected by this code.
