Unrecognized Reports

The MX8000–3EX provides an output to the printer when a report is received in an unrecognized reporting
format. This may happen in cases where the automation protocol selected does not match the reporting
format set for a client. Examples of a good report and unrecognized report are provided below:
Good Report
In the example below, a Contact ID report was
received and the MX8000–3EX is set for
ADEMCO 685 protocol.
[New] Opening-Cancel ID# 304 Group# 00

Troubleshooting Process

Before you call Technical Support you may be able to solve the problem yourself by following these
procedures.
1. Verify that a problem exists.
2. Check Fault Status.
This can be done by pressing the
Press the down arrow to view fault messages.
3. Check the manual for suggestions or solutions.
4. Check connections.
5. Isolate the problem. Remove other devices that may be interfering.
6. Try swapping devices to isolate the problem.
7. Try to replace the problematic device.
8. Document the failures and the steps used to resolve them.
