Making a Group Call
Group Call can be used to engage in 2-way group voice calls by initiating a call to a group.
The transceiver can initiate a call to the transceivers having the same Group ID by specifying the Group ID. The
transceiver can also initiate a call to all transceivers by specifying the Group ID for which "ALL" is configured.
Initiating a Group Call
Group Call can be started by one of the following methods.
 Group Call Mode
While the transceiver is in Group Call Mode, the transceiver can initiate a Group Call by a user selecting a Group ID
configured in the Group ID List and then pressing the PTT switch. (Refer to
Pressing the Group (NXDN), Group + Status (NXDN) or Group + SDM (NXDN) key places the transceiver in Group
Call Mode.
The transceiver also enters Group Call Mode by a user selecting "Group (NXDN)", "Group + Status (NXDN)", or "Group
+ SDM (NXDN)" after the transceiver enters Menu Mode by a user pressing the Menu key. (Refer to
Mode on page
23.)
 Selcall on PTT
The transceiver initiates a Group Call when the PTT switch is pressed on a GID where "Group Call" is configured for
Selcall on PTT. The Group ID of the target transceiver can be configured by selecting one Group ID from the Group ID
List by using KPG-111D/ DN.
 PC Command
The transceiver starts a Group Call upon the receipt of a PC command from the communication port.
Note
For NX-200S/ NX-300S, the transceiver cannot start a Group Call by using Group Call Mode.
Operating the Transceiver
